Coming Up on True Movies....

True Crime, Every week day at 5pm on True Movies

Monday 8th, The Babysitter's Seduction
18-year-old Michelle Winston (Keri Russell, Mission Impossible III) is shocked when the mother of the family for whom she regularly babysits unexpectedly dies.  Bill Bartrand (Stephen Collins, 7th Heaven), the grieving widower, asks Michelle to take over caring for the children, and she is gradually seduced by him and they start an affair.  But suspicions soon arise that Bill’s wife may have been the victim of murder.  Also starring Tobin Bell (Saw) and Phylicia Rashad (The Cosby Show).

Tuesday 9th, Final Justice
Gwen Saticoy (Annette O’Toole) watches her gay brother’s killer walk free thanks to the machinations of Merle Hammond (Michael McKean), a slick celebrity lawyer, and decides that Hammond should be given a taste of his own medicine. There’s only one way to dispense her unique brand of justice: Gwen takes Hammond hostage.

Wednesday 10th, Just Ask My Children
Their only crime was to speak out in support of their friends – but what happened to US couple Brenda and Scott Kniffen as a result of this innocent action almost defies belief: they were sentenced to life for supposedly committing depraved crimes against their own children.  Virginia Madsen, who was Academy Award®-nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Sideways, stars with Jeffrey Nordling (Melrose Place) and Graham Beckel (Brokeback Mountain).

Thursday 11th, A Killing ina Small Town
Barbara Hershey (who won an Emmy® Award), Brian Dennehy and Hal Holbrook display their considerable talents in this horrific true story, directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal (Waterland), of a murder that rocked the small American town of Lucas.  It is also a chilling account of a killing and its aftermath: a melee of traumatised relatives, illicit affairs and repressed desires.  Hershey plays Candy Morrison, a woman who seems gentle, quiet and kind – the ideal friend and neighbour, in fact.  But beneath this charming exterior lies a terrifying hotbed of unrest.  A disturbing incident way back in her past has left emotional scars that are buried deep in her mind.  When another woman in Lucas is murdered with exceptional brutality, there are no witnesses and no suspects (least of all Candy Morrison), but one thing is for certain: the killer must be found.  Dennehy plays Ed Reivers, the lawyer hired to defend the accused, and Holbrook plays Dr Beardsley, the psychiatrist who uses hypnosis to uncover the truth behind the murderer’s motives.

Friday 12th, Murder so Sweet
Steve Catlin is a ladies’ man with a smooth line and a cool approach.  The trouble only arises when his girlfriends start arguing about commitment.  Steve then settles such arguments in his own inimitable fashion: he murders his girlfriends.  Edie Ballew suspects that Steve may – literally - be a ladykiller, but she has no evidence to prove it.  So she decides to trap him by posing as a potential conquest. Starring L.A. Law’s Harry Hamlin and Helen Shaver (Poltergeist: The Legacy).
